The icon portrays the Mother of God in omophorion forming a fold on her breast, emphasized by a pink band on the edge. Such folds are encountered in the replicas of the miraculous icon. Inside this fold is a medallion with the half-figure of the blessing Infant Christ dressed in unusually light color clothes – a light ochrous chiton and a pink himation. A bright scarlet background of the medallion is decorated with “cloudy” ornamentation. The color palette is moderate and exquisite. The soft roundish faces of Christ and the Mother of God are painted over a brown sankir layer with transparent honey shading ochre and finest brushes making an impression of a single color layer seemingly luminous from the inside

The Mother of God is portrayed from the waist down, Her figure has elongated proportions, with omophorion going apart on the breast thus forming a low cut. A half-length image of Nicholas the Wonderworker on the back belongs to a very widespread iconographic variant of the saint’s image: he is shown wearing clerical clothes (phelonion and omophorion), blessing with his right hand and supports with his right through the omophorion a Gospel book in a precious casing. -
The Mother of God is represented against an ochre background, wearing brown omophorion with golden edging decorated with stones. On Her chest is a golden medallion with an image of Christ Emmanuel. On the left border are saint princes Constantine, Michael and Feodor dressed in princely clothes; on the right border is prince Peter and princess Fevronia in clerical clothes. All of them are not shown in frontal position, but turned to the centerpiece, in prayer to the Mother of God.
