The icon portrays the Mother of God in omophorion forming a fold on her breast, emphasized by a pink band on the edge. Such folds are encountered in the replicas of the miraculous icon. Inside this fold is a medallion with the half-figure of the blessing Infant Christ dressed in unusually light color clothes – a light ochrous chiton and a pink himation. A bright scarlet background of the medallion is decorated with “cloudy” ornamentation. The color palette is moderate and exquisite. The soft roundish faces of Christ and the Mother of God are painted over a brown sankir layer with transparent honey shading ochre and finest brushes making an impression of a single color layer seemingly luminous from the inside.
