Miracle of Florus and Laurus

Iconography:  Miracle of the Archangel Michael with Florus and Laurus

Date: XVI century. Second half of the XVIth century

Origin: was removed from the church of Twelve Apostles in the village of Pirinem of the Pinezhsky district, Archangelskaya region (1799)

Material: Wood, levkas, tempera

Dimensions:  height 67 cm, width 61 cm

In the upper part of the icon is depicted Archangel Michael and at the sides in a half-turn  to him are saint martyrs Florus and Laurus. Below against the background of the rocky landscape Speusippus, Eleusippus and Meleusippus are leading the horses to the river.
