Mother of God Hodegetria

Iconography:  Holy Virgin Hodegetria

Date: XVI century. Middle of the XVIth century

Origin: was removed from the Trinity church in the village of Nyonoks, Archangelskaya region области (1727-1729)

Material: Wood, cut-back central portion, canvas, levkas, tempera

Dimensions:  height 112,5 cm, width 82,5 cm

The Mother of God is represented practically frontally, Her head slightly inclined to Her Son sitting on Her left hand. The right hand of the Holy Virgin is pointing at the Divine Child in prayer. His right hand is folded in two-fingered blessing and in His left hand He is holding a folded scroll.
