In the upper part of the icon in the carved frame is depicted the Mother of God lying on the deathbed surrounded by the Apostles. In the centre is the figure of Jesus Christ holding the wrapped child – the symbol of the chaste soul. In the lower part of the icon are depicted interceding Antony and Theodosius of the Cave.
