To the right and to the left of the sanctuary throne under the ciborium are two groups of interceding saints – Mary with Joseph holding two doves and the elder Simeon with the prophetess Anna. Christ is depicted on the hands of St. Simeon and Simeon himself bends over the throne as if intending to put the Divine Child on it. On the throne are depicted the Old Testament tables.
