Iconography: Annunciation of the Most Holy Virgin
Date: XV century. End of the 15th - beginning of the 16th century
Origin: From the Pokrov monastery in Suzdal.
Material: Wood, levkas, tempera
Dimensions: height 29,5 cm, width 23,3 cm
The icon shows archangel Gabriel stepping towards the Mother of God and holding out his right hand and the Holy Virgin listening to the Good News, Her head bowed submissively. The Mother of God holds a string of a red yarn. Architectural background is represented as a cross shaped storey construction with the dome and rectangular building with two storied ciborium with the keeled roof.
