The icon is set in a basma case with a crown and a crescent collar, a sewn icon shield and a sudarium. From below the case can be seen only the faces of the Mother of God and Christ, painted in brown ochre with whitewash highlights and cinnabar contours of the lips. The underlining of omophorion and hair of the Infant are painted in gold. A silver basma plate case decorated with enwinding twines and a crown with turquoise inserts were obviously made simultaneously with the icon. A silver crescent collar with festoon bottom edge decorated with three rosettes was made in 1748. The Holy Virgin sudarium was obviously made by the nuns from the Holy Trinity Convent; their successors in the next century complemented the icon case with the sewn icon shield made of blue taffeta.

Deposited in the Museum on February 10, 1930. Special reference number 97.
