The icon portrays the scene of the Transfiguration of Our Lord on Mount Tabor in the presence of His three closest disciples – Peter, John and James. Christ is shown against a nimbus, composed of several circles, transitioning from dark-green to light and almost white colors. The Old Testament prophets Moses and Elijah are shown standing on either side of Christ.
Deposited in the museum on Februry 26, 1928. Restored in 1928 in the Murom Museum by I.I.Tyulin.
