Our Lady of Konev

Iconography:  Konevskaya (Golubitskaya) icon of the Mother of God

Date: XVII century. Late 18th century.

Material: Wood, levkas, tempera

Dimensions:  height 28 cm, width 21,5 cm

The icon represents the Mother of God holding the Infant Christ at her side, who is shown holding a nestling pigeon. The icon derived from the Hodegitria type but the Infant is turned away from the Mother.
