The Archistratigus is depicted full-length clothed in armour.In his left hand he holds a shield and in his right hand- a fiery sword.

In the central section of the icon Jesus Christ is depicted waist-length. In His left hand he holds the Gospel Book and His right arm is raised in a gesture of blessing. On the raised flat borders of the icon panel are the interceding angels and four saints: St.Mark, St.Alexander, St.Theodosia and St.Anna.

In the centrepiece of the icon is the Archangel Michael in armour with a globe in his left hand. Above him - the Mother of God, he is surrounded by the chosen saints. -
The archistratigus is depicted full-length in armour. In his left hand he holds a staff, in his right hand he holds a fiery sword.

The half-length figure of the Archangel is turned to the right. His face is slightly inclined; his right hand is directed to the Savior and his left hand holds the bright-red measuring rod.

A half-length image of the Apostle Michael in a three-quarter turn. Smooth lines and exquisite color scheme convey an ideal image of the heavenly protector and defender of humankind standing near the Savior. -
The centerpiece shows the shoulder-length depiction of saint Nicholas against the red background. He is represented in a frontal pose in the attire of hierarch, dark ochroid phelonion with the hem decorated with pearls near collar and omophorion are partially visible. Borders of the icon represent Deesis and waist-length figures of the selected saints.

The Archangel Michael is the commander of the Army of God. The Archangel Michael is portrayed in a three-quarter turn, dressed in a dalmatic and holding a stick which turns into a powerful weapon to fight Satan, and a mirror with the initials of Jesus Christ.

Vladimir icon of the Mother of God with the Selected Saints
Apparently, this icon is a copy of the venerated relic of the Rostov Cathedral. The center of the upper border shows the scene of Transfiguration of Our Lord and at its sides are the waist-length depictions of bowing archangels Michael and Gabriel in the aureoles. On the right and on the left borders are shown the figures of the selected saints according to the hierarchy.There are prophet John the Forerunner and apostle Paul, apostles Peter and John the Theologian, saints Nicholas and Alexis, saint warriors Theodore of Tyre and Theodore Stratelates, martyresses Tatiana and Anastasia.

The commander of the heavenly host is represented full-length, in a frontal pose, dressed in a long green dalmatic, its chest and hem are decorated with the ochroid stripes with the pattern made of the colored gemstones and the pearls. A tippet ties dalmatic at the waist. A cinnabar mantle tied at the neck is put on the dalmatic. Michael is holding a thin baton in his right hand and in his left hand – a transparency with the monogram of Christ. The icon has a specific feature: the thin baton is depicted with a trident.
