In the upper border of the icon, in the center, is the “Prepared Throne” (Ethimasia), with a blue robe and a gospel thereupon. On either side of the throne are the half-figures of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel in devotional poses. On side borders are the figures of the saints standing in frontal poses. On the left, top-down, are the figures of Sts. George, Clement, the Pope of Rome and the Prophet Elijah; in the right margin are Demetrius of Thessaloniki, Hypatius of Gangra and Nicholas. On the lower border are the shoulder-length figures of the saint martyrs Florus and Laurus, with Saint Blaise between them.

The Savior Enthroned is a central icon of the Deesis row. Jesus is portrayed seated on a throne. He is blessing with his right hand and holds a gospel with his left. The color solution of the Deesis row is based on the typical Novgorodian three-color scheme – red, green and yellow. The images are noted for internal expression, though more powerful shapes gave way to slim proportions.
