The center of the icon framed with a broad red case represents the scene of the Nativity of Christ. In the bottom left corner is a high coach with Anna lying on it; next to her are maidservants. Below, before the bed, is the scene of the washing of the newborn baby: a maid with a swaddled baby sits by a font. In the right bottom corner is the scene of Joachim and Anna caressing the child. Against a background are chambers with ciboria and a red velum between them. The central part is surrounded by 18 border scenes from the life of the blessed Joachim and Anna, the Virgin Mary and the Feasts of the Mother of God.
