The icon represents the saint down on his knees facing the Mother of God. Above him is Christ in a quadrant raising His hand in blessing.

Mother of God the Prayers of the people

In the left part of the icon is the Theotokos portrayed in a devotional pose. In her right hand she holds a scroll. Falling down before her feet in prayer are monks, kings (wearing a semispherical closed crown), prince (next to the king, uncovered), holy faces in white vestment and many laypersons. To the right is St. Peter, metropolitan of Moscow. In the right upper corner of the center is the segment of heaven with the figure of the blessing Christ inclined to His Mother.
